About me

日本語

I’m Akira, a Go influencer based in Germany!

I work to connect the world through Go and to pass the game on to the next generation.

For details about my activities, please see the Project page.

As a Go YouTuber”Akira’s Go”, I also create new Go content, including updates on Go in Europe and Japan!

I am also involved in promoting Go to children in Germany through Go outreach activities.

Akira’s Career Summary

I was born in Onomichi, Hiroshima Prefecture.

I fell in love with Go when my parents gave me a board game set for my 7th birthday.
I trained at a local volunteer-run Go club, where I developed my skills and achieved the accomplishments listed below.

I later enrolled in a university known for its strong Go program.
Although I initially struggled with the high level of competition, I kept working hard and eventually placed 4th nationwide in the Women’s Student Honinbo Championship.

After graduating, I worked at a company, and in September 2024 I moved to Germany for work.
